This Mixed Media Piece is Acrylic on Canvas, with an image transfer of 3 giraffe heads, in addition i have added gold leaf to highlight certain aspects.
As a photographer I like to push all the boundaries, working within mixed media arts I very much see myself as an Expanded Photographer. I always start with an image I have taken myself, work this into multiple exposure photography and then take it to the next level, which is mixed media image transfer. I am inspired by colour and try to incorporate colours that are both harmonious and complementary to bring a vibrancy to my work.
My Fine Art Photography and Mixed Media art practice is not always planned. The media I may use next can vary, however I do place a lot of thought into the colours used. Every colour has meaning, every colour has its own “feel” (depending on what colours are paired together, the “Feel” may vary dramatically).
